Tables

Last updated Screenshots show Folora 0.2.0.

Tables in Folora are GFM tables, edited cell by cell in writing view.

Insert a table

  1. Click Table in the formatting toolbar.
  2. Enter Rows (including header) and Columns. You can insert up to 3,000 cells at a time.
  3. Click Insert.

  • Press Tab in the last cell to add a row.

  • The handle at the top right of the table lists table actions: insert, delete and move rows and columns, Align left, Center, Align right, and Delete table.
  • Drag the handle to move the whole table.
  • ⌥↑ and ⌥↓ move the row containing the cursor up and down; ⌥← and ⌥→ move the column left and right.

Paste from a spreadsheet

If you copy a range of at least 2 rows and 2 columns from a spreadsheet and paste it, it becomes a table. When the cursor is in a table, the pasted content starts at the cell containing the cursor and overwrites existing cells row by row and column by column; if it extends beyond the table, rows and columns are added automatically. One ⌘Z undoes the paste.

Column widths

Column widths are distributed automatically based on content. Drag a column border to adjust its width; double-click the border to return to automatic width. Column widths affect display only, are not written to the file, and return to automatic after you close the document. Turning off Fit table columns to content in Settings disables automatic distribution.
